Hourly Employees: Recording Time in the My Patriot Mobile App
Follow these steps to effectively use the Time and Attendance mobile app to manage your work hours.
1. Log In
- Open the Time and Attendance mobile app.
- Enter your employee login username and password.
2. Navigate to the “Today” Screen
- The app will default to the “Today” screen upon login.
- Your time card will display based on your work location’s time zone.
- To update your work time zone, visit your employee portal. Refer to the “Change your work time zone setting” for more details.
3. Select Job (If Applicable)
- If you have multiple jobs, your primary job will display by default.
- Use the dropdown menu to select the correct job before entering your time.
4. Enter Your Time
- Punch In/Out:
- If your time card is set to punch in/out, use the “Punch In” button to record your start time and the “Punch Out” button to record when you finish or take a break. If you don’t see a punch button, your employer has set you to Manual Time Entry.
- If you miss a punch or need a correction, contact your employer for assistance.
- Manual Time Entry:
- Click “Set Time” to manually enter your time in the format (e.g., 8:00 AM).
- For multiple entries in a day (e.g., lunch breaks), click “In/Out” to add additional time slots.
- Ensure each “In” time has a corresponding “Out” time.
5. Add Other Hours (If Applicable)
- Click the “+ Add Other Hours” link to record non-worked hours (e.g., vacation, holidays).
- New rows will appear for each type of non-worked hour if supported by your employer.
- Enter the total daily non-worked hours in the appropriate row. Available balances will be displayed.
6. Add Time Card or Daily Notes
What’s the difference? Daily notes are comments on a specific work day. Time card notes are general notes for the time card and are not related to a specific day.
Managers are not notified of new notes, and may not see these until approving time cards.
Add a Daily Note – Tap the note icon on the desired day to add a note on a particular date. Type your note and tap “Save.” You can edit your daily notes until the manager approves the time card. “Save.”
Add a Time Card Note – Tap the “Note” section of the time card to leave general comments on the time card that aren’t related to a specific day and “Save.” You can edit your time card note until the manager approves the time card.
The note icon will be filled in to indicate when notes are added.
7. Submit Your Time Card
- Click “Submit Time Card” when you have completed your entries for the pay period.
- You may edit your time card after submitting it until it is approved by your manager. Once approved, no further changes can be made.

Time Card Rejection
- If your time card is rejected by your manager or payroll administrator, you will receive an email notification or notification on your phone if you have enabled notifications in the app.
Visit your profile settings to change or view your notifications. - Correct any errors and resubmit your time card using the steps outlined above.
